Passion Pit - To Kingdom Come

Formed in the late months of 2007, the Electro five piece – Passion Pit have become almost an over night success.  This, in the main, was due to the single ‘Sleepyhead’ which guaranteed the band UK recognition by featuring on; MTV’s – ‘What The Flip?’ series and receiving a high percentage of air play on NME TV.

The current single ‘To Kingdom Come’ from the debut album ‘Manners’ begins with an adventurous sounding melody plucked on an acoustic guitar, assisted instantly by a slow, solid drumbeat and a tastefully layered keyboard melody.  For me, the best is yet to come, once the inventive melodies have had sufficient time to implant themselves into your head, the vocals pull you deep into the song.  In other words; you’re ears, mind, and any other body part you care to think of will be hooked however hard you try not to take notice. This is, without any doubt, a song that you won’t get tired of listening to. Every time I hear the track there is still a tingling feeling of excitement throughout my entire body, it seems like a fresh and different experience each time.  It is quite stimulating to hear an electro record that isn’t plagued with the chart conforming mentality unlike many acts.  Just innovative electro music that has an infectious energy to it.
