If Angry vs The Bear’s outlandish fashion sense and huge hair is anything to go by we should be expecting a huge and outrageous sound from new single ‘Mystery Girl/Show Emotion’. That opinion isn’t wrong. Dirty pulsating electro – pop drones kick start proceedings shortly followed by what can only be described as an epic falsetto female vocal, not too dissimilar to that of the fashionista Little Boots. When chorus is finally upon us the song has far more appeal, and moves up in pace a notch. An extremely bright and well structured song that oozes chart appeal.
Second track ‘Mystery Girl’ begins with a nerdy electro sound, one that the creators of Mario would be more than happy to put their name too. Once the initial shock is over and I have now realized I am not in a room full of kids playing computer games, the track begins to grow on me. This is due to the irresistible and strong dance beat that drives the song, coupled with that delightful yet weird female vocal makes for a song that, on paper, should be successful, but with so many new electro bands out there it will be a hard nut to crack.
