'Odds and Evens' the new single from London – Based trio The High Wires a mix of hand clasping guitar pop, with eerie, but dreamy female vocals. However without the key ingredient, the somewhat mesmerising female vocal, the song is in great danger of passing people by like one of those oh so memorable Alphabeat songs…
The distorted guitar and organ bring substance and the weight that is needed to make the song memorable. Although these two elements do bring the elements that do, admittedly, make it a catchy and enjoyable foot tapper, it’s a long way to the top and they’re going to need more then just a pretty voice and a few distorted guitars to get there.
