Shifting into a higher gear.

As many of you may have noticed over the passing months this blog has been rather idle, the reason why you may ask? Well, quite simply I have been dabbling in the wonderful world of radio production at my local community radio station. South Cheshire-based station Redshift Radio started roughly around two years ago, and ever since the conception of the station back in those (very) early days the directors (Bizzy) Lizzy and (Dr) Gav have hardly drawn breath to expand and vigorously advertise the station to the wonderful community and businesses that we have contributing and sponsoring it today. Redshift have around 60 presenters, contributing in a manner of different ways towards the stations continuing success and once a month we all come together to talk about the visions, progress and aspirations of the station - discuss events going on around the area in that specific month. However, the main aim is for each of us to discuss how we, as a community, can build on what Liz and Gav have put in place. I can honestly say now that I am approaching a year with Redshift, the gears a really shifting and it is hugely exciting to be part of something that is growing with such pace. The ultimate goal for the near future however is to obtain that all important FM licence, and, who knows what may come after this? Bigger offices, swanky leather chairs, cigars? Okay, so maybe I'm getting carried away but with a new sports show firmly in the pipeline - think BBC Radio 5, but local - things are looking up.

Find out why I'm so excited and give it a listen, go on, GET INVOLVED.
